On October 15, the Primakov Center hosted a presentation of analytical theses by Alexandr Maryasov, Ph.D. in History and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Iran (2001-2005), focusing on Russian-Iranian relations.
"Russia and Iran: Interconnected Geopolitical Interests and Regional Cooperation"
The author analyzes the dynamics of cooperation between Russia and Iran, examining it through the lens of common challenges and regional interests. According to the expert, the rapprochement between the two countries is driven by their desire to counteract external pressure and develop mutually beneficial ties.
The theses pay particular attention to economic cooperation and Tehran's role as a transportation hub. The author also addresses issues of regional interaction, noting both commonalities in interests and differences in approaches between our countries.
