On April 2, the Primakov Center for International Cooperation hosted a situational analysis titled “The International Situation Around Iran: Scenarios, Risks, and Opportunities for Russia.”
As part of the session, key theses were presented by Evdokia Dobreva, Junior Research Fellow at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, followed by an expert discussion. The discussion was moderated by Nikolay Silaev, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Leading Research Fellow at the Institute for International Studies of MGIMO University.
During the discussion, participants examined various aspects of the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, as well as possible scenarios for its further development. Experts analyzed the strategies of each party, placing particular emphasis on modern dimensions of conflict, including the use of artificial intelligence technologies. Special attention was given to assessing risks for Russia, as well as prospects for its involvement in conflict resolution and potential post-conflict reconstruction in Iran.
The event brought together representatives from MGIMO University, the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, the Institute of Oriental Studies, the Russian State University for the Humanities, the Higher School of Economics, as well as other research institutions and members of the private sector.
