The Primakov Center Wraps Up Its Working Visit to Turkey

From April 14 to 16, the Primakov Center conducted a working visit to Ankara. The program brought together researchers from ведущие Russian think tanks, including the Russian International Affairs Council, the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and MGIMO University. The Turkish side was represented by experts from the Center for Middle Eastern Studies ORSAM and the Middle East Studies Center of Ankara University (ODAM).

The visit program included an expert seminar titled “Russia and Turkey in the Middle East” held at ORSAM, consisting of two sessions. During the first discussion, participants examined the policies of Russia and Turkey toward Israel. Experts analyzed the complex nature of Russia–Israel relations, including the influence of cultural and humanitarian factors. The second session focused on security issues in the Persian Gulf region and mechanisms for ensuring sustainable stability. In this context, particular attention was given to the role of Israel as one of the factors of regional instability.

The seminar served as a platform for exchanging views on key political trends in the Middle East. The visit contributed to strengthening ties between the expert communities of Russia and Turkey and to the development of professional dialogue between the analytical centers of the two countries.
