Yevgeny Primakov's 95th Anniversary: A Man Ahead of His Time

Today marks what would have been the 95th birthday of Yevgeny Primakov — an outstanding statesman, diplomat, and scholar whose name our Center proudly bears.

For the second day at the "Russia — Middle East" Forum, experts have been discussing Primakov's legacy, and the main conclusion is clear: many of his ideas have not only retained their relevance but are gaining new significance. As participants note, his analytical thinking and deep understanding of international processes allowed him to anticipate many of today's global political trends.

The Russia-India-China (RIC) cooperation format he proposed became the core of what would later become BRICS — an association that plays an increasingly important role in global politics and economics today. This is a vivid example of how one person's strategic vision can transform into a real mechanism for international cooperation.

"Dialogue must be honest and equal" — this principle of Primakov is more relevant today than ever. Following this precept, we continue to develop the traditions of constructive diplomacy and scientific cooperation that Yevgeny Maksimovich established.

We dare hope he would approve of our efforts!
